Amazon China Comes to Store Stats!

App Annie Store Stats expands its international reach for Amazon and Google Play

2013 is shaping up to be a big year for the global expansion of app stores. A few weeks ago Amazon announced they would support nearly 200 countries in the coming months and it looks like Amazon has begun this expansion of the Appstore in China.

So, we’re looking forward to keeping pace, and today we’ve just added China to our Store Stats rankings for Amazon, as well as a few more countries for our Google Play charts.

On Amazon, you can now get the top ranked free and paid apps for China! Amazon’s entry into the Chinese market, also provides a first look into the paid apps space for China.

For Google Play we’ve added Greece, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Slovakia.

We expect more and more app stores to roll out to new countries in the coming months and you can expect to see them on Store Stats. To see which apps are leading the Amazon Appstore in China, check out the rankings here.

China Now Leads the World in New iOS and Android Device Activations

Flurry recently quantified China’s meteoric adoption of iOS and Android applications.? While China ranked 10th in application sessions at the beginning of 2011, it finished the year in 2nd place, only behind the United States.? With its large population and rapidly emerging middle class, adoption of apps vaulted China into the position of world’s 2nd largest app economy.? In additional analysis, Flurry also determined that China has the most market upside, based on calculating those in China who can afford smartphones versus the current installed base.
